The way of the dodo.

Hey I’ve got an idea, and call me crazy, why don’t you release the DVD a month after the movie is out of the theater? Maybe then I wouldn’t get so sick of hearing all the hype about the movie that I feel it’s my responsibility to see the piece of shit. Oh but wait, it isn’t in the theater anymore, and it won’t be out on DVD for another, what, six months…so I guess fuck me right?
Sorry if you don’t get my $1 redbox fee for another six months but it’s your own fault. I’m sure I’ll still rent it when it comes out (for the extras) and maybe I’ll even buy it (for the packaging or whatever), but right now I just want to see the thing so I don’t feel like an asshole when I talk to my friends.
You know some of us have kids, and getting out of the house to go see a movie isn’t always the easiest thing to coordinate. And look at the movie we’re talking about here; if me and the misses do go out, do you think Star Trek is going to be first on her list? I kinda doubt it.
But you guys and girls do whatever you think is right. I mean, it worked for you twenty years ago, why change a thing? I’m sure you know what’s best for the customer and you’re not just thinking about how you’ll buy your next summer home or anything.
