Cover This Week: Day 1

I’ve been loving me some cover songs lately and when I saw gordonshumway’s post it seemed as good a time as any to share.

So I’ll start at the beginning:

No I guess I wont because that would be another band entirely and maybe I’ll save that for later in the week. How about we go about half way and call it even.

I heard this song many many years ago and never, until recently, knew it was a cover song. When I found out it was a 7 Seconds cover I immediately tried to find the original. This proved to be a daunting task, and in the end I was forced to resort to piracy. After downloading the entire 7 Seconds library (they gotta be great ‘cuz this song is great) I was pleased to find out that I absolutely hate the original and everything about 7 Seconds in general. To be fair I didn’t actually *listen* to anything else 7 Seconds did because I hated “My List” so much. What can I say, I don’t like punk or whatever, but at least that crappy band inspired this moving interpretation.
